Training held on eco-friendly pad and pickle making

Village adoption committee (VAC), Kigwema in collaboration with the Women Resource Development department and Fisheries & Aquatic department provided training on making eco-friendly sanitary pad and fish pickle making at Kigwema council hall on March 2.

According to DIPR report, fashion designer/central co-ordinator, TADI, K. Ramzeupeule imparted the training on making reusable sanitary pads using eco-friendly material. Ramzeupeule was trained at Ecofemm, Auroville Tamil Nadu on sanitary pad making. 

Trainees were also taught on women’s reproductive health and how to take care of oneself. Awareness on the harmful effects of disposable pads and the advantage of using an ecofriendly pad were also imparted to the trainees.

District fisheries officer, C. Dory Yanthan imparted training on making fish pickle, fish cutlet, fish ball etc using various ingredients and also how to make it hygienically, so as to make it marketable.

TADI, by community learning & business resource center, is a women Self Help Group initiative based in Jalukie with a vision to provide training and employment to uplift the economic status of rural women.
