Former minister Noklem C. Konyak passed away in Dimapur on March 8. He was 72 years. He was elected from 45th Tehok A/C.
NLA Speaker Sharingain Longkumer and others condoled the demise of Noklem Konyak, ex-MLA and former minister.
In his condolence, Sharingain Longkumer expressed profound sadness at demise of Noklem C. Konyak. Longkumer said that late Noklem was a diligent and dedicated man who worked sincerely for the welfare and upliftment of his constituency and the people of Nagaland.
His death has caused a great loss to the Nagas in general and the Konyak community in particular and the void created by him be difficult to fill, he said.
Longkumer, on behalf of the members of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly and on his own behalf, conveyed heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Noklem C. Konyak, their children and family members and prayed that Almighty God grant solace and comfort at this hour of grief and for the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
DY.CM: Deputy chief minister, Y. Patton expressed pain to learn about the passing away of ex-minister C Nocklem Konyak, at Zion Hospital, Dimapur.
Patton said Nocklem was an efficient legislator committed to the welfare of the people of the state. He was also vocal in raising issues pertaining to uplifting and development of under-developed areas in either ways as minister or as a public leader, Patton stated.
In his demise, Patton said Nagas have lost a dynamic leader which will be felt dearly.
On behalf of himself and the state BJP legislators, Patton conveyed deepest condolences to the grieving family and prayed for the departed soul to find eternal peace.
Ex-PAN: Ex-Parliamentarian’s Association of Nagaland (Ex-PAN) expressed grief over the sudden demise of C. Noklem Konyak, former minister.
In a condolence message, Ex-PAN president Joshua Sumi said late Noklem was a sincere, efficient, dedicated leader and a loving husband and father to his family. His death is not only a loss for his family members, but also the constituency and the Nagas, Joshua stated.
At this hour of grief, Joshua said Ex-PAN prayed that the Almighty God grant solace and comfort to the bereaved family members and for the soul to rest in eternal peace.
NDPP: NDPP president, Chingwang Konyak said he was pained to learn of the unfortunate demise of Nocklem Konyak, after a prolonged illness.
Chingwang said he had personally known Nocklem since his youth and got to observe his social involvement since his college days. Chingwang said he was impressed with his sincerity and dedication for the uplift of his people and in 1982 he successfully contested from Tehok Assembly Constituency.
“Being an altruistic, generous and forthcoming in many ways to his people, he was elected from the constituency consecutively for three times,” Chingwang said.
He said Nocklem’s concern for the Eastern Naga people was legendary and his demise was a great loss for people of Eastern Nagaland in general and the Konyak Nagas in particular.
Chingwang and the rank and file of the NDPP conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that Almighty grant solace and comfort to the bereaved family members at this time of bereavement and prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
NPCC: Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president K. Therie also expressed deep pain to learn of the demise of C. Noklem Konyak, ex-Minister, elected twice from 45-Tehok A/C in 1982 and 1989 on Indian National Congress ticket.
Therie, said late Noklem was a man who always upheld the interests of the people with a kind and affable outlook, adding he was full of life and never short of answers.
He said that late Noklem was everybody’s friend, while his hospitality and affection were felt even in the Southernmost parts of Nagaland.
With his passing away, which has created a huge vacuum that cannot be filled, Therie said the people have not only lost a tall leader but also a true friend.
“While words cannot express the immeasurable loss at this hour, all rank and file of the NPCC join me in expressing our deepest condolences,” Therie said, and prayed that the grace of the Almighty comfort and console the bereaved family through this painful hour. He also prayed that the departed soul rest in peace.
