A two-day capacity building programme on intelligence collection, investigation and handling of wildlife crime got underway at the Forest conference hall, CF office complex Mokokchung on Monday.
Inaugural programme on Monday was graced by Vishal Chauhan, superintendent of Police Mokokchung as the special invitee. In his address, the SP appreciated the efforts of the departments concerned in organizing such programmes which were much needed for the enforcement agencies. He said that issues like wildlife protection should be constant with sensitization programmes and follow up of best practise methods for the enforcement agencies and for the common people to create awareness amongst them.
He added that cooperation and support with each other should be the basis while approaching the community on such issues otherwise, the efforts will fall short. Earlier in the programme, short speeches were delivered by Satya Prakash Tripathi, chairman State Biodiversity Board Nagaland and Agni Mitra, regional deputy director, Eastern Region, WCCB, MoEF, government of India, Kolkatta.
Programme was jointly organized by Nagaland Forest department, State Biodiversity Board Nagaland & Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, MoEF & CC govt of India.
