DC Kohima directs meat shops in Kohima: Deputy commissioner Kohima Gregory Thejawelie has directed all meat shops under Kohima district to sell meat only through home delivery method as prescribed by the Kohima Municipal Council. Opening of meat shops and selling of meat to the public from the shop is banned till further order. DC also informed that necessary requirements of foodgrains have been dispatched to the wards and colonies as identified by the respective wards/colonies chairmen on April 1 and 2 at Kohima relief distribution center, local ground. All the outpost officers, sector magistrates, ward and colony chairmen under Kohima district are to monitor the system of foodgrains distribution keeping in mind the social distancing in their respective wards and colonies.
