Acknowledging the expectation of the consumers and the general public on power department to provide stable power supply, the Association of Power Engineers Nagaland (APEN) has urged the all responsible to extend cooperation to the power department for smooth maintenance of power supply in the state.
In a press release, APEN president Er. Penrithung Yanthan and general secretary Er. T Lithrichum Sangtam said that with the onset of stormy/ windy season there was likelihood of power disruption due to collapse of poles and fallen trees on the power lines.
Stating that the department has put its workforce on high alert for quick response to such incidents, APEN has requested the public to inform control rooms if such incidents were observed.
The association also said that with the arrival of warm season, load demand in the plains has increased and the transformers and lines were attaining full load in these areas. It has, therefore, appealed to the consumers for judicious use of power in their homes to avoid overloading of the system.
Further, the association has appealed to the law enforcing agencies and volunteers not to obstruct movements of department’s workforce on duty. APEN reminded that during the ongoing total lock down when people were staying at home or working from homes, the field officers and staff were out in the line of duty to make power available. The association has assured that work force would deliver the service during the challenging period ahead.
