Any inferior PPEs will be replaced: Govt

Taking note of several reports about some doctors and health workers raising objections on the quality of personal protective equipment (PPEs) and medical accessories being issued to them, the state government Sunday decided to replace such inferiro/defective items upon bringing it to their notice. 

Informing this during the daily briefing, principal secretary Home, Abhijit Sinha said that the state government has asked doctors and health workers– raising apprehensions about the quality of PPEs and medial accessories– to submit in writing to the concerned controlling officers citing reasons for replacement. 

Accordingly, Abhijit Sinha stated that the Health department will issue new personal protective equipments and other medical accessories as replacement of all such purported inferior quality materials.

In this regard, he said that the state government has directed the all the deputy commissioners (DCs) to collect all such returned PPEs and medical items and to keep under them under safe custody until further orders.

345 samples test -ve; results of 59 awaited

Health & Family Welfare department has sent 404 COVID suspected samples as on April 19, 6 p.m., out of which 345 samples tested negative, Principal Secretary Home, Abhijit Sinha said on Sunday. Sinha said that the results of 59 samples were awaited. 

He further sought the cooperation of all to follow the lockdown measures put in place and to maintaining social distancing at all times.

Meanwhile, Health department has informed that 675 persons have been screened as on April 19 and 156 persons were currently under facility quarantine.
