Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) observed its third foundation day on May 16, wherein the party president Chingwang Konyak conveyed a message to the party rank and file.

A press release from NDPP media cell stated that, Chingwang while expressing that much has been achieved during the short time since NDPP was established, however pointed out that much more needed to be done. In this regard, he asked for active participation of all party members and prayer support of the public. Chingwang stated that party ideologies and programmes could be promoted because of the tireless efforts of all rank and file of NDPP from grassroots to central headquarters. Stating that it was not often that a nascent political party got to form a government, Chingwang expressed gratitude to its alliance partners, namely the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the independent member who had helped establish the PDA government in Nagaland. Chingwang also said that NDPP has put on record its appreciation to all the political parties, particularly the principal opposition party, the Naga Peoples Front, for playing the role of a responsible opposition and their support to the government in times of crisis especially during this global COVID-19 pandemic. Chingwang also mentioned the founding members for their contributions and sacrifices and that “they may be gone, but they shall never be forgotten.” He called upon the party rank and file to rededicate in serving the party even as it entered the fourth year so that the party progresses to greater heights.
