Ao Baptist churches of Dimapur area under the aegis of Dimapur Area Ao Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship and Dimapur-based Ao civil society organisations (CSOs) have decided to provide physical and spiritual support to 300 returnees at three quarantine centres located at Dimapur Government College administrative block.
The Ao CSOs include Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur, Dimapur Watsu Telongjem, Dimapur Ao Lanur Telongjem and Ao Kaketshir Telongjem, Dimapur.
They will be accepting and treating all returnees as their special guests accommodated at the three quarantine centres irrespective of their tribe and community affiliation for 14 days.
Mentioning this, Dimapur Area Ao Baptist Churches & Ao Civil Societies on COVID-19 War convener Supu Jamir and secretary Imti Jamir in a release said the church and CSOs understood that it was their spiritual and social obligation to share the burden of the State government as well as Naga people in difficult times like now.
Moved by the appeal of the State government to churches and CSOs in Nagaland to extend spiritual and physical support in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, they said they felt the need to urgently respond in view of the apprehension expressed by the government itself about its inability to make available adequate infrastructure and other needs in managing the quarantine centres for Naga brothers and sisters coming from different parts of the country.
Hoping that the quarantine period at the centres would be another good time for everyone to share their feelings and love of God through various social media platforms with presentation of gift bags and word of hope from God’s servants and counsellors from the respective churches, Dimapur Area Ao Baptist Churches & Ao Civil Societies on COVID-19 War appealed to all citizens to keep praying for God’s mercy and His divine protection and render all possible support to contain this unprecedented pandemic of “our time”.
