8 recovered patients shifted to CCC, Dimapur

Deputy director H&FW, Dr. Kika Longkumer informed that the eight recovered patients were shifted to COVID Care Centre (CCC) Dimapur since they were asymptomatic and do not require further medical attention.

Informing this to media persons during the daily briefing at the state secretariat conference hall, Dr. Kika said the recovered patients were shifted to reduce congestion in the COVID hospitals which also consumes more resources.

Dr. Longkumer added that they have completed 14 days, yet discharge protocols will be followed before being discharged after which logistic arrangement will be made to send them to their places soon.

Dr. Longkumer shared that in COVID case, 97% will develop symptoms within 10-11 days but 99% develop symptoms within 14th day because of which it was important to keep the people in QCs for 14 days.

Dr. Longkumer said in the quarantine centres, the inmates were kept to prevent transmission of the disease by monitoring their health and also report the inmate through the apps.

He also said those in home quarantine were being tracked through geo fencing tag.

238 QCs with 13800 beds currently available: Adviser and spokesperson for the High Powered Committee (HPC) Mmhonlumo Kikon informed that the state as on June 7, 2020 has a total of 283 quarantine centres (QCs) with 13800 beds.

He said that Nagaland was ranked 5th rank in the country, as the strictest state that imposed quarantine protocols on returnees as the state was able to ramp up the facilities and testing during the lockdown period.

Currently, he said Dimapur has 49 QCs with 3147 inmates as on June 6. In Kohima, he said of the four QCs, JNV has 80 occupants out of the 400 intake capacity, IG stadium has nil till date, K. Badze has 800 inmates out of 1300 capacity and Meriema has 400 occupants out of the 500 intake capacity. Kohima has a QC having a capacity of 2750 intake capacity.

State principal secretary home, Abhijit Sinha informed that the District Task force teams have pulled in people from various departments and were managing the QCs with proper coordination.
