Nagaland COVID-19 tally now 177

Nagaland on Monday registered nine new COVID-19 positive cases while four infected returnees have also recovered from the virus, taking the state’s tally to 177 cases– 85 active and 92 recovered.

In a tweet, Health minister S. Pangnyu Phom said that the 9 new cases of COVID-19 +ve were reported out of 418 samples tested. 5 were from Dimapur QC & 4 from Peren QC, he said. All positive cases have been shifted to the respective district COVID-19 hospitals for treatment while those who had recovered, were shifted to the COVID care centre. 

According to state Health department data, the four persons who had tested negative were from Dimapur COVID hospital.

Results of 1294 awaited: Out of 5650 COVID-19 suspected samples sent for testing till date, the results of 5256 were received out of which 177 tested positive and results of 1294 were awaited (10 positive results were of retest reflected in the re-test results).

Meanwhile, deputy CMO Dimapur, Dr. Antoly during the DTF meeting informed that BSL-2 lab at Referral Hospital was expected to be functional within few days. She also informed that 2 TrueNat machines were installed at Medziphema PHC. Dr. Antoly said one more machine would be arriving, which will boost the testing capacity, a DIPR report stated.
