While condemning “mushrooming activities of unabated multiple illegal tax collection” by the various groups in Dimapur, the Public Action Committee (PAC) has appealed the state government and district administration to immediately intervene and tackle “such illegal collections” from taking place.
A press release from PAC media cell expressed shock as to how “various organizations fighting for Naga sovereignty could think of collecting money from the public at such a pandemic period.” PAC termed it as “beyond comprehension as to why the national workers cannot understand the severity and crisis, the pandemic has rendered that ultimately led to lockdown affecting everyone economically irrespective of caste, creed or religion etc.”
PAC further stated that it “view those involved in collecting illegal tax at this juncture as anti Naga and anti people.”
PAC further informed the various political groups to be more humane and wise so that public sympathy is not totally lost which otherwise may create unwanted situation if public is cornered to its limit.
