State COVID cases near 600-mark

With 27 new COVID-19 positive cases reported on Sunday, Nagaland’s tally inched towards the 600 mark.

According to the health department bulletin, 12 positive cases were from Dimapur, Peren-10,Tuensang-2, 1 each from Zunheboto, Mokokchung and Kohima. There were three recovered cases from Zunheboto. With this the state’s total cases rose to 590 cases- 359 active and 231 recovered.
In his daily briefing, principal secretary, Abhijit Sinha said that all positive cases have been referred to the respective COVID-19 hospitals. Till July 5, out of 13,805 samples tested, the results of 12,819 samples were received. Sinha said that 8466 samples were tested at the BSL-3 lab (NHAK), out of which 451 samples tested positive. At the BSL-2 lab (CIHSR) out of 550 samples tested, 12 tested positive.
Also 7192 samples were tested by TrueNat, of which 207 tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.
