Renowned social worker and one of the oldest settling families of Dimapur, late Shantilal Jain passed away on July 11. He was 82 years old and is survived by his wife Sulochana Devi, 2 sons, 3 daughters and 11 grandchildren.
Late Shantilal served the Dimapur Jain Samaj for more than four decades in various capacities. He also served as president of Rotary Club of Dimapur, secretary of Nagaland Small Scale Industries Association, member of Growth Centre, SISI, Nagaland, advisor of Small Scale industries, New Delhi, advisor to Post & Telegraph, Dimapur, member of Executive Board of State Bank of India, Dimapur, trustee & president of All India Digambar Jain Mahasabha, Dimapur & trustee of Sohan Tara Sablawat Foundation, secretary of Veer Vikas Mandal, general secretary of Purvottar Akhil Bharatiya Syadwad Shikshan Parishad, Sonagiri, president of Kirara Digambar Jain Samaj, chief patron of Jain Gazette etc.
The SD Jain Samaj and Marwari Samaj expressed deep sorrow at the demise of late Shantilal.
