Plantation and beautification drive initiated by Eco and Beautification Club and IQAC, Dimapur Government College (DGC) was kick started by deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi and Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) administrator, Albert Ezung on July 18 by ceremoniously planted a sapling each at the college premises.
A press release by DGC informed that the DC, who is also the chairman of the advisory board of DGC, and DMC administrator planted a pine sapling each at the entrance of the new Science Block to kick start the plantation and beautification drive.
The college informed that the drive is a part of the green campus project of the college.
It said the green campus project has been adopted as a best practice of DGC, in keeping with the national objectives on increasing green cover in the country.
