
Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), DAC & FW, ministry of Agriculture, GOI, Medziphema, conducted a webinar on the topic “Protected cultivation in North East India: Prospects, issues and solutions” through google meet platform on July 11.
A press release by CIH Medziphema stated that, horticulture commissioner, GOI, Dr. B.N.S. Murthy was invited as the chief guest for the webinar and deputy commissioner DAC & FW cum director incharge CIH, Dr. N.K.Patle was the moderator of the programme. The speaker was executive director, NCPAH, Dr. Anand Zambre and Santosh Ranjane from KF Bioplants Pvt. Ltd invited as an expert to present lecture on horticulture related biotechnologies.
The participants included entrepreneurs, farmers, research scholars, scientists and officers from various institutes and departments from all over India. Altogether 215 participants joined and interacted in the programme. The objective of the webinar was to develop the overall understanding of protected cultivation structures, climate control systems, planning and maintaining the crops, irrigation and fertigation, soil media, and plant protection.
