Woman rescues 4-year old from 35 ft ring well

A 4 -year-old girl was rescued from a 35 feet deep ringwell at Ngaidong Anchor Colony, Lilien village under Athibung sub-division Peren, where she had fallen into while playing on July 25.  

A press release by Lamkai Hangsing, father of the rescued child Lainelhing Hangsing stated that, the incident took place at around 5 p.m when his daughter was playing with her friend near the unfenced well. 
On falling into the well, her friend informed her mother Hoineiting Kipgen who immediately descended the well to rescue Lainelhing. After a few minutes of struggle in the water, 35-year-old Hoineiting who risked her life and the child were later pulled out of the well by Lunpu Lhouvun.
Hangsing said a delay could have resulted in the death of his child and the prompt action of Hoineiting helped saved his child’s life. 
Hansing’s family thanked Hoineiting for rescuing  their daughter and further  appealed to civil societies and the state government to accord Hoineiting Kipgen due recognition for her courageous and selfless act.
