The deputy commissioner (DC) Mon, Thavaseelan K, has lifted the total lockdown under Mon district and Mon Sadar sub-division with effect from August 10, 2020.
DC Mon has, however, issued guidelines that would remain in force in the whole of Mon district till further orders. DC cautioned that any person found violating measures would be liable to be prosecuted against as per the law.
Lockdown extended in Aboi, Tizit, Phomching: DC Mon has extended total lockdown in Aboi (August 11-17), Tizit (August 10-11) and Phomching (August 10-12). DC has ordered that public movement would remain strictly prohibited except on medical emergencies. All business/commercial establishments, shops would remain closed except pharmacies. Movement of private vehicles except those permitted has also been banned.
All social, cultural, religious and academic gathering would be banned.
Not more than 20 people would be permitted in case of funerals. No movement will be permitted in or out of Aboi town, Tizit sub-division and Phomching sub-division.
