At least five houses including Home Guards office were severely damaged by landslides that occurred at DC Hill West Colony, Zunheboto town on August 17 morning.
According to an official bulletin, no casualty has been reported as the alert residents evacuated in advance. It stated that no proper drainage system in the vicinity caused landslides. Zunheboto had received heavy downpour over the past couple of weeks.
In another incident, one house was swept away while four were affected at Akuluto town on August 14 evening after heavy rainfall that triggered multiple landslides. One person was reportedly injured in the incident.
