Rio’s condolence for Dr. I. Sademmeren Longkumer

Renowned personality in the field of literature, art & culture, Dr. (Guru) I. Sademmeren Longkumer of Ungma village passed away at Faith Hospital Dimapur after prolonged illness on August 17.  He is survived by 6 daughters out of 8 children with late Imsuwala. His mortal remain will be taken to his native village at Ungma.
During the course of his life, he was awarded for his many achievements, namely Governor Award for art, literature, folklore and drama on August 1, 2003. He was conferred the title “Guru” under Gurushisa Parampara and an honorary doctorate from National Virtual University for Peace & Education, Bangalore. He authored and published12 books in Ao dialect.
Meanwhile, the chief minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio in a condolence message to the family of late Sademmeren stated that, Naga society has lost a prominent personality and the vacuum will be difficult to fill. Rio also said that people lovingly called him “babu Sademba” and that his contributions and sacrifice will continue to be of great enrichment for all future generations. Rio along with his family conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and pray to Almighty God that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
