Shamator Town Students’ Union (STSU) has appealed to the state government to revoke the transfer order of Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO) Shamator and retain him for the welfare of student community.

In a representation addressed to the principal secretary school education, STSU president Dopong and general secretary Toshikhiung pointed out that SDEO office Shamator was without regular SDEO since last year and was taken charge by SDEO Noklak till the beginning of June 2020. Absence of regular SDEO, the union said created a lot of inconveniences not only to the SDEO staff, but also to more than 50 schools under SDEO Shamator.

After prolong hardship, STSU said the student community was relieved as Bahuddin Ahmed took charge of SDEO Shamator on June 5, 2020, who, the union said had since then been performing his duty with “utmost devotion and sincerity.

However, the union expressed shock and anguish that he has been transferred out of Shamator without any reliever.
