
Monthly meeting of the Mokokchung district planning & development board (DPDB) was held at NIC conference hall Mokokchung, under the chairmanship of speaker, NLA & chairman DPDB Mokokchung, Sharingain Lonkumer on September 22.
According to DIPR report, the meeting was held through video conference due to the pandemic. On the agendas, the DPDB approved the LADP schemes for the current year 2020-21 of the all the 10 (ten) constituencies under Mokokchung. House also approved new society registration of Mokokchung Law College and principal for the registration and establishment of Nagaland Mahatma Gandhi University at Chuchuyimlang.
Ashram is currently running an institute named Mahatma Gandhi Academy Human Development (MGAHD) in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Science, Mumbai and with financial support from the Hans Foundation, New Delhi.
According to managing trustee of the Ashram, Dr. Aotoshi who made the presentation to the DPDB, the proposed University once registered will establish other institute of higher learning and addition to the existing College of Social Work.
Members present were minister of Technical & Housing, Tongpang Ozukum, advisor of Industries & Commerce NIDC, Imnatiba Imkong, L Imchen MLA, deputy commissioner Mokokchung, SP Mokokchung, administrative officers and district HODs and members from civil organization.
