A joint meeting with all the intending candidates and political agents to 60 Pungro-Kiphire assembly constituency was held at DC conference hall, Kiphire on October 19.
According to DIPR report, general observer Dev Raj Dev highlighted a brief about the Model Code of Conduct (MMC). He stated that MCC was guidance for all the political parties and was a set of norms which has been evolved with the consensus of political parties who have consented to abide by the principles embodied in the said code. He added that it also binds them to respect and observe it in letter and spirit. He said MCC was enforced from the date of announcement of election schedule by the Election Commission and was operational till the process of elections was completed.
ADC & RO Kiphire, Nyempo Wallim chaired the meeting where she urged all the candidates and political agents to cooperate with one another and to be abide by the guidelines for the success of the upcoming by-election.
