Indian Dental Association Nagaland State Branch (IDANSB) has expressed resentment over the selection process carried out by the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department for the five junior dental surgeon posts.
In a letter to the principal director, H&FW, the IDANSB president Dr. Kaketo Yepthomi and honorary secretary Dr. Vichovol Temi stated that the department, in view of COVID-19 pandemic, decided to adopt a fast track recruitment policy instead of conducting written examination. IDANSB stated that the department set and notified “certain terms and conditions” for the recruitment under fast track recruitment policy. IDANSB has, however, claimed there were gross discrepancies in the distribution of marks.
It claimed that applicants with higher qualification were not awarded points. Besides, the association claimed that there was discrepancy in marks distribution for candidate with work experience. It alleged that some applicants with work experience, who had furnished documents of their work experience, were not awarded due points.
Further, IDANSB said that there was also error in the merit list regarding percentage of shortlisted candidates. It stated that the manner in which the department was conducting the recruitment without even following the terms and conditions it had laid down was “utterly arbitrary and unreasonable.”
IDANSB therefore reiterated the demand for requisition of five posts of junior dental surgeon to NPSC for recruitment. IDANSB also demanded that the department issue a new list of short listed candidates after thorough scrutiny following all the terms and conditions.
