Various organisations have condemned the brutal murder of a 17-year old girl on October 22 in the premises of St. Claire Higher Secondary School, Kacharigaon, Dimapur.
ME: Mozhuitsu Ekhung (ME) in a condemnation note by chairman H. Woben Mozhui and secretary, Mhonrao Mozhui stated that the crime was beyond human tolerance and appealed the concerned authority to punish the accused according to the law of the land.
KLEE: Kohima Lotha Eloe Ekhung (KLEE) in a condemnation by president, Nzanbeni Kithan and general secretary, Mhanbeni Kikon stated that, it will not tolerate such heinous crime that severely affects the safety of children and women in Naga society. Union also urged the concerned authorities to book the culprit as per the law. KLEE conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
SVC: Senjum Village Council (SVC), Senjum Youth Organisation (SYO), students’ union and Senjum Village Women Association (SVWA) in a condemnation by SVC chairman, M. Chenithung Ezung and secretary, Thungbemo Lapon stated that such evil act to take an innocent life of fellow human being is uncalled for in Naga society. The SVC has urged the competent authority to leave no stone unturned and deal it according to laid down laws. SVC also prays for the bereaved family to be strong in this time of grief and sorrow.
DDLGBU condemns: Dimapur District Lotha GBs Union (DDLGBU) in a condemnation by president Ntonsi Ngullie and general secretary T Yanpenthung Mozhui appealed the law enforcing authorities to give strictest punishment as per the law on the accused who was now at police custody. DDLGBU stated that the apprehended culprit should not be granted bail under any circumstance. Union further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family.
LUC: Lotha Union Chümoukedima (LUC) in a condemnation by chairman L. T. Lotha and general secretary, Longshithung Lotha stated that, such a barbaric and ruthless act was not acceptable in a civilised peaceful society. LUC while appreciating the law enforcing agency for taking a prompt action in arresting all the culprits has also demanded for the highest degree of punishment to the accused as per the law. LUC conveyed sincere condolences to the bereaved family and pray that almighty God grant peace and solace.
NTCA: Nagaland Theological College Association (NTCA) in a condemnation through its media cell stated that, a time has come for the Naga Christians to come together and rebuild “our homes based on right Biblical and theological knowledge and action.” As the apex body of Nagaland theological fraternity, the NTCA also appealed the Naga society to reflect on what was happening in Nagaland instead of pointing fingers at anyone. NTCA also conveyed condolences and prayers to the bereaved family.
LWS: Liz Woodland School (LWS) Dimapur authority in a condemnation note stated that such act has no place in the society and demanded for immediate justice. LWS also appreciated the speedy arrest by the police and hoped for earliest delivery of justice to the victim and her family. The school also conveyed condolence to the bereaved family.
