Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has convened an emergency meeting at its base office here at 10 am on November 28 and requested all respective tribal members to attend positively.
According to a press release issued by committee’s convener Supu Jamir, general secretary W Lemba Chang and assistant general secretary W Chenithung Humtsoe, the meeting has been necessitated due to the aggressive behaviour shown by agitating parties from Assam site at Nakachari and Mariani sectors in the name of the economic blockade, seizing public vehicles, all of which needs to be resolved amicably.
The committee further strongly appealed to the State government and Naga public not to be complacent and sleep over the “Naga survival road” (the Foothill road) and urged upon all stakeholders to take up the issue seriously.
It also sought an appointment with deputy chief minister Y Patton, who also holds home and R&B (PWD) portfolios, on the issue of making the Foothill road pliable during dry season and expected to be reciprocated at the earliest.
