Dimapur police on December 5 arrested a 33 year old man on charges of sexually assaulting a minor girl.
According to a statement issued by ADCP (Crime) & PRO Dimapur police one Bokato Achumi, son of late Luheshe Achumi of Tichipami village accosted the minor for a lift on his autorickshaw near Khermahal, Dimapur and took her to a hotel where she was allegedly sexually assaulted.
The victim however managed to alert her family members. Following this, PRO said that the police were able to arrest the accused.
A case was registered at the Women police station under relevant sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexually Offence Act (POCSO).
