
Dimapur district administration has issued an advisory in view of the confirmation of one dengue positive case in Dimapur and in the interest of the health and safety of the general public.
In a press release, the deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur Rajesh Soundararajan has requested all responsible citizens to keep water-filled vessels and tanks tightly covered; empty and dry the coolers, flower pots and saucers once a week; wear clothes which cover the complete body; ensure the pregnant women and children sleep under mosquito net during day time preferably insecticide treated net; immediately consult a doctor in case of high fever; clear any stagnant water body and keep every household free of mosquito breeding places.
Further, DC urged general public to look out for common dengue symptoms like severe headache and high fever; pain in muscles and joints; pain in rear position of the eye; nausea and vomiting; bleeding through nose and gums in serious cases and measles like rash over chest and upper limbs.
DC has informed that only ELISA test positive would be confirmed as dengue positive. ELISA Test for confirmation can be done at District Hospital Dimapur.
