Neighbourhood youth parl at MCC

As part of India’s 75th years of Independence celebration, a neighbourhood youth parliament was conducted by Model Christian College (MCC) in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) on March 24 at the college auditorium.

A press release by Model Christian College stated that during the session, assistant professor, department of political science, Ketuniphre-e Gwirie spoke on the topic, “Indian Freedom Struggle…Life, Journey, Philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and Subhash Chandra Bose”. She dwelled on their contributions towards the nation and highlighted their various ideas and philosophies.

Director in-charge, NYKS, Nagaland, John Makhabo while speaking on “Role of Youth in Nation Building” urged the youth to take up the responsibility of keeping the city clean by following the spirit of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, or Clean India Mission. He also encouraged the youth to avail free training under “Skill India” mission and other various Central schemes. 

The programme was chaired by Shovelu Keyho, vote of thanks was given by Setonu Pucho.
