DPDB meetings held in Peren, Longleng

District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meetings for the month of April were held in Peren and Longleng to discuss various issues and agendas for the development of the districts. 

Peren: Monthly Peren DPDB meeting was held on April 6 under the chairmanship of DC Peren-cum-DPDB vice-chairman, Sentiwapang Aier at DC’s conference hall, Peren.

According to DIPR report, regarding upgrading of government high school at Ahthibung, the board members agreed to approve and recommend to the higher ups for further follow up action.

Other agenda discussed in the meeting included constitution of district level aspirational blocks committee and ban on plying of log/heavy vehicles.

DEO (evaluation) Peren, Erangnimbe Thou gave a thorough and a detailed presentation about the status and activities of the department in the district.

Nagaland state biodiversity board chairman in his PowerPoint presentation highlighted on the importance, role, structure of the state biodiversity board and also the roles of biodiversity management board at the village level.

Longleng: Longleng DPDB meeting was held on April 6 under the chairmanship of DC, M Shayung Phom at DC’s conference hall.

According to DIPR report, DC welcomed the new members, followed by a review of last meeting minutes. Briefing on the latest SOP to contain and control the spread of COVID-19, DC suggested and appealed to the members for strict implementation of social distancing, hand washing and compulsory use of mask by the citizens. 

After a brief deliberation and suggestions from members it was decided to enforce strict compliance of three important COVID-19 SOPs within the town by the combine force of district administration and police by imposing fine to the defaulters.

In this regard, DC urged upon the members to sensitise the people in their locality so that citizens can take self responsibility to control the spread of the virus. 

The house also discussed participation of Longleng district in Dr. T. Ao Trophy. In this regard, Longleng district football association president, Patham highlighted on the ongoing coaching and financial constraints of the association.

He also thanked the officers for their cooperation and financial contribution in the previous years. 

CMO Longleng, Dr. Obangjungla gave a PowerPoint presentation on overview of ear and hearing and informed that charity screening camp for ear and hearing would be conducted in the district after registration drive throughout April.

In this regard, she appealed to the members to disseminate the information. 

She further informed that registration can be done at CHC centre Yachem and Tamlu, PHC centers at Yongnyah, Shakshi, Pongo and other health centres in the district.

The camp would be conducted only after the registration is done as medical equipments and facilities would be prepared accordingly, she added.

Longleng EE PHED also spoke on jal jeevan mission (JJM) and said that the mission was launched to provide safe & adequate drinking water through functional household tape connection (FHTC) to every rural household by 2024.

He also informed on various committee formed at the state, district and block level for strict implementation of the mission.
