Nagaland Governor RN Ravi has urged NITI Aayog chief operating officer (CEO) Amitabh Kant to pay special attention to Nagaland as the State required genuine handholding to catch up with rest of the country. Ravi said this when Kant called on him at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday, PRO Raj Bhavan stated.
During the meeting, Kant discussed the pressing development issues of the State in general and Kiphire, the only Aspirational District of the State in particular. He also discussed those aspects of development like health, education, livelihood, infrastructure that have bearing on human development indices. Frequent transfer of deputy commissioner in an Aspirational District emerged as a cause of concern during the discussion, PRO said.
Later in the evening, NITI Aayog CEO called on chief minister Neiphiu Rio
Kant accompanied by director Aspirational Districts Programme, Soumitra Mandal arrived Nagaland on Tuesday. They will be visiting Kiphire on April 7 to review various projects.
