Excise mobile squad duty party stationed at New Field excise check gate intercepted a truck (MN0I 8886) on May 3 at around 7:30 p.m. and seized 11,136 bottles of liquor which were found concealed under household items in the vehicle.
According to superintendent of excise and prohibition (MS) K Toshiho Yeptho, the accused Ibomcha Singh was booked and arrested under relevant section of the NLTP Act and the seized items were deposited at excise malkhana. The duty party was led by assistant inspector, Rukhriezetuo.
In another incident, a duty party of the same unit at Chümoukedima excise check gate led by assistant inspector, Ketouselie intercepted a truck (AS09C4604) on May 4 at around 4:26 a.m. and seized 6036 bottles of assorted liquor which were found concealed under bags of fish feeds in the vehicle.
According to K Toshiho Yeptho, one Manikanta was arrested and booked under relevant section of the NLTP Act and the seized items were deposited at the excise malkhana.
