State gets `379.75 cr PDRD grant

 The Centre has released the second monthly instalment of Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) grant of Rs. 9,871 crore for the year 2021-22 to 17 states, which include Rs.379.75 crore to Nagaland.

With the release of second instalment, a total amount of Rs. 19,742 crore has been released in the first two months of the current financial year as Post Devolution Revenue Deficit  Grant to the states. 

State govt initiates austerity measure: To mobilize additional funds for providing free COVID-19 vaccine and other COVID-19 related activities, the state government would deduct 20% non-development expenditure from at least 82 departments amounting to Rs 47.68 crore.

In an office memorandum, the state finance department notified that there would be pro-rata cuts of 20% under non-development from the budget estimate 2021-22. 

The pro rata or proportional cuts would be made from funds meant for travel expenses, office expenses, motor vehicles and maintenance.
