COVID-19 information and advisories

 District administrations and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) across the state have been issuing advisories, information to the public in order to contain the spread and to assist people during the pandemic. District tasks forces (DTFs) of various districts have also been conducting meetings on COVID-19 preparedness.  

Tening SDTF: Tening Sub-Divisional Task Force (SDTF) on COVID-19 meeting was held at town hall, Tening on May 7.  The meeting was attended by pastors of various Churches and GBs of Tening town. 

According to DIPR report, the meeting was held under the chairmanship of additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Tening, Rhosietho Nguori who is also the chairman of SDTF Tening.

The ADC briefed the members on the situation in the sub-division and also highlighted on the latest SOPs of the government.

After a series of discussion and deliberations, the following were resolved: all forms of Church services in Tening Town would be kept under suspension with immediate effect and till May 16, the matter will be reviewed for necessary action after May 16. 

All funeral programmes in Tening town will be observed under laid down SOPs and the programmes would be prepared by the administration & police along with the bereaved family and concerned religious head. 

Prior written permission should be obtained from the ADC office Tening while organising any weddings/birthday party/etc., and strict SOPs would be enforced; in case any family of Covid positive person(s) was incapable of providing necessary facility for home isolation, all such person(s) would be lodged in the GHS Tening building. In this regard, the concerned family would be responsible for arrangement of food, bedding and other personal requirements. 

The police shall reinforce checking of crowding in the bank; compulsory any shops or business establishment found operating without provision of hand wash/sanitiser would be closed down without any further notice.

DC Dmu informs on DTF COVID helpline: Deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur Rajesh Soundararajan has informed the general public that the Dimapur District Task Force (DTF) helpline has been set up. 

The DC has informed the public to contact at WhatsApp numbers at 6009924366 and 7641823998 for any COVID-19 related queries or emergencies. 

SCHO informs senior citizens: The Senior Citizens Helpline Office (SCHO) situated opposite head post office, CK arcade building, Kohima has informed that free food items and essential commodities to the poor and needy senior citizens in and around Kohima district would be conducted from May 6-12.

Program manager, Neithonuo Liegise has requested concerned citizens to identify genuine destitute elders in their respective neighborhoods and call at 03702290278 or toll free call at 14567. The call officers would be online from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

House sealed in Tizit: In order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, ADC Tizit, Pakon Phom has ordered the sealing of the residence of Noklem (Neitong Village) adjacent to NH Hotel, Police Ward, Tizit Town till further order.  

Any person violating the containment measures would be liable to be proceeded against as per the provision of Sections 51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005 besides legal action under IPC Section 188 and other legal provisions as applicable.
