Zunheboto district administration, police, Sumi Hoho (SH), Sümi Officers Union Zunheboto (SOUZ) and Sumi Kukami Hoho (SKH) at a joint emergency meeting have appealed to the SARDP Sumi Area Affected Landowners Welfare Committee (SSAALWC) to immediately withdraw the indefinite total cessation of the ongoing 2-lane road project under Sumi jurisdiction (eight villages).
In a joint resolution, DC Zunheboto Peter Lichamo, SP Zunheboto Uniel Kichu, SH general secretary I Nikheto Jimomi, SKH president H Kashito Yepthomi and SOUZ Lhokiye Yeptho stated that joint emergency meeting held at the official residence of DC Zunheboto on May 20, 2021 discussed issues pertaining to stoppage of ongoing two-lane road construction.
The meeting resolved that SSAALWC would withdraw the stoppage and allow the road construction works to resume in the larger public interest with immediate effect.
Further, the joint meeting considering the merit of the demand put forth by the SSAALWC resolved to continuously extend all logistic supports to the welfare committee.
Further, the meeting resolved that henceforth if any individuals/groups obstruct the ongoing road construction or any developmental activities in the district, strict legal action would be initiated against the defaulters as per the provision of the law.
