Complete lockdown in Kohima village area till May 31

 In view of the surge in Covid-19 cases, the Kohima Village Council (KVC) at an emergency meeting held here on Friday decided to impose complete lockdown in all areas under its jurisdiction till May 31.

The meeting also decided that all shops would be closed while movement of persons, including those attending to agriculture work, would be totally restricted.  Those wishing to attend to agricultural activities have been asked to camp at their respective fields until the lockdown was lifted.

It was also learnt that the lockdown areas will include Ziekezou (DBS), Keyake (BSF camp), Kenuozou and Phezoucha while sanitation trucks will also not be allowed to ply during the lockdown  period.

The meeting further directed KVC unit executives to inform citizens to procure necessary provisions in preparation for the lockdown. While exemptions may be extended to those udner exempted category, strict action would be imposed agaisnt defaulters, the meeting warned.
