State logs 68 fresh Covid cases; over 5L inoculated

Nagaland on Sunday reported 68 fresh Covid-19 positive cases, pushing the total caseload to 25,519. The death toll remained unchanged at 499, with nil Covid-19 deaths in the past 24 hours.

Of the fresh cases, 22 were reported from Mokokchung, Kohima-20, Dimapur-18, four in Kiphire, two in Mon and one each in Longleng and Phek.

As on Sunday, the active cases in the state stood at 1234 while a total of 23077 patients have recovered from the infection till date.

Meanwhile, a total of 5,36,257 persons have been inoculated against Covid-19 till date. 

According to the Health department 4,68,202 have been administered the first dose which include– 15,823 health care workers (HCWs); 60,202 frontline workers (FLWs); 1,56,086 under 45 years and above category and 2,36,091 of the 18-44 years age group.

The second dose have been administered to 68,055 persons– 10,641 HCWs; 29,376 FLWs; 28,014 under 45 years and above category and 24 under 18-44 years age group.

PTI adds: India saw a single-day rise of 43,071 COVID-19 infections, which took the tally of cases to 3,05,45,433, while active cases have declined to 4,85,350, according to Union health ministry data updated on Sunday.

The death toll has climbed to 4,02,005 with 955 more fatalities, while the case fatality rate has risen to 1.32 per cent from 1.31 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The active cases have further declined to 4,85,350 and comprise 1.59 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 97.09 per cent, the ministry said. It said active cases have declined by 10,183 in a span of 24 hours.

Meanwhile, cumulative vaccine doses administered so far has reached 35.12 crore under nationwide Covid vaccination drive.
