Landowners of seven villages and village councils and Welfare Committee, Longleng have announced withdrawal of their ongoing indefinite bandh imposed since July 1. This followed a meeting of landowners of seven villages– Yaongyimchen, Alayong, Sanglu, Yachem, Noksosang, Orangkong and Hamlikong – with Village Councils and Welfare Committee on Wednesday over the issue of construction of two-lane Changtongya-Longleng NH-702 by Nithin Sai Constructions and KCPL from Dikhu to Longleng town zero point.
In a statement welfare Committee convener H Leisha Phom and secretary T Aliba Phom said that the meeting discussed and decided to request the construction companies and National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd to release compensation for the property damaged before July 31.
