Joint Council, 4 Lane-Foothill Cross Road has appealed to chief minister Neiphiu Rio to immediately complete construction of Foothill Road from 4th Mile, Diphupar to Niuland, which was totally stopped after soling work in February this year.
In an open letter to the chief minister, council chairman Hetozu Chishi and treasurer Medoi Dozo pointed out that with the onset of monsoon rain, the road has been utterly damaged with even small and medium vehicles being unable to ply on it.
They said as the road was the only route for residents of the area, they were facing untold misery and hardships.
The letter warned that failure on the part of the government to take measures would compel Joint Council of 4 Lane-Foothill Cross Road to take any action as deemed fit and proper to fulfil its just demand.
Hetozu Chishi and Medoi Dozo said they were writing the letter on behalf of 11 member villages of joint council comprising Naga United, Aoyim, Xelhozhe, Perzha, Old Showuba, New Showuba, Nihoto, Khehokhu, Hoito, Lotovi and Vihokhu.
