An executive council meeting of Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO), hosted by Khezhakeno village was held on September 11, where various points were resolved and approved.
In a press release, CPO president Mikha Kenye and general secretary Veduvo Rhakho informed that the meeting resolved to re-affirm CPO’s 38th general session resolution No.2 for preservation of forest under CPO jurisdictions; CPO general executive council meeting to be held in the 2nd week of December at Zapami. The house disapproved illegal constructions on 2-lane road project at Lanye Bridge and from Akash Bridge to Akhwego and that all such illegal construction was to be removed as per administrative order.
CPO while affirming to extend full cooperation cautioned the administration and implementing agencies in dealing with the construction as such mega project could not be given up at any cost.
The meeting viewed that construction of 2-lane in town areas should give priority for welfare of the people for smooth running of businesses and other activities before winter session.
On pork ban which was imposed in the district since 2000, the meeting discussed that no substantial progress was visible and resolved that the responsible department animal husbandry and veterinary services revitalise the breeding centres at Phek and Sathazu village or handover to private party.
In order to boost production of agri-allied sector and since identifying soil feasibility area wise was important, the meeting discussed systematic and proper mechanism need to be worked out with responsible department. It approved to conduct a seminar on pork ban and agri-allied product.
CPO approved for area presidents to disseminate and encourage agriculture products and farming in respective areas to help the upcoming organic market at CPO building Dimapur, tentatively to be inaugurated in November.
It also resolved to endorse Chakhesang Cultural Organisation (CCO) to tackle issues that arose with traditional attires of Chakhesang community and discussed CPO meeting of Trustee Board and Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) tentatively to be held in the 2nd week of October at Dimapur to review present CPO building construction.
