As part of its civic action programmes, various battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised a series of activities for the local populace.
Ghaspani battalion conducted the lecture on the theme, “Today’s Youth Tomorrow’s Future” at Nihekhu, Zubza and Kukidolong villages under Dimapur district on September 18. The lecture was focused on emphasizing the importance of education to the students. A total of 54 students attended the lecture. The event was organised with strict compliance to social distancing norms.
In Sangtsunger village, Kiphire district, the Kiphire battalion organised a medical camp-cum-Covid awareness programme for the residents on September 19.
The main intent behind conducting the medical camp was to reach out to the people of the remote areas and establish faith and build cordial relations with locals. 29 villagers benefitted from the medical camp.
Kohima battalion in collaboration with Kripa Foundation, Kohima organised a sensitisation seminar on awareness on substance abuse at Chakabama, Kohima on September 19.
As a part of the seminar, an interactive lecture on harmful effects of drugs and alcohol was conducted by resource person from Kripa Foundation, Kohima to generate awareness about the ill effects of drugs and alcohol.
The awareness campaign witnessed participation of 22 villagers.
