Rio, Zeliang meet Mishra, NSCN (I-M) leaders in Delhi

Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio, planning & coordination, parliamentary affairs minister Neiba Kronu and leader of NPF Legislature party leader T.R. Zeliang met with NSCN (I-M) leaders and Government of India representative and Interlocutor, AK Mishra in Delhi on Sunday in connection with the Naga political issue.

Rio flew to Delhi Saturday along with NPF leader T.R. Zeliang to join Neiba Kronu who was already there in their mission to play their role in ensuring talks were on track. According to highly placed sources, Rio, Zeliang and Kronu met A.K Mishra at Nagaland House Delhi. The three had reportedly conveyed the resolution of the UDA all-party government for early settlement of the Naga political issue.

Rio along with Kronu and Zeliang also met with NSCN (I-M) leaders– ato kilonser and chief negotiator Th. Muivah, chairman Q. Tuccu and vice chairman Tongmeth Wangnao at the Lodhi road residence of Th. Muivah. Sources said that the three leaders conveyed to the NSCN (I-M) leadership the desire of the Nagas for early solution to the Naga political issue at the earliest. 

As reported in this newspaper, NSCN (I-M) leadership besides WC/NNPGs led by convenor N. Kitovi Zhimomi have been holding talks with Mishra. Niki Sumi-led NSCN (K) members who were also in Delhi returned to Nagaland on Friday after meeting Mishra.
