CRS NF circle inspects new railway line, trial run

Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) circle Mohammad Latief Khan inspected new railway line Dhansiri-Shokhuvi (Phase-1) and conducted speed trial run covering 20 Km here on Saturday.

CRS NF circle was accompanied by DRM Lumding Jogendra Singh Lakra, NFR chief administrative officer (CAO) HS Yadav and officials from NFR.

During the speed trial run, train engines with a few coaches ran several times between Dhansiri-Shokhuvi section (Phase-1) with high-speed of upto 110 Kmph.

The track from Dhansiri to Dimapur covers 19 km, while Dimapur to Shokhuvi requires nearly about 30 minutes, covering approximately 40 Km.

In August last, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) had informed Nagaland State Transport (NST) department that 98% physical progress has been achieved in Dhansiri-Shukhovi (16.50 km), 24% in Shukhovi-Pherima (28 km) and 2% in Pherima-Zubza (38 km) sections of the new railway line being constructed between Dhansiri and Zubza.

NFR had informed that the second phase (Sukhovi-Pherima section) has been estimated to cost Rs 2,052 crore and its land acquisition too had been completed.
