Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) has extended its support to the demand for upgrading Tseminyu sub-division to a full-fledged district.
In a press release, TSUD president Vibozo Tetso and general secretary Idizeung Reunim said that the primary reason for the demand to upgrade Tseminyu as a separate district was “undeniably justified for administrative convenience and economic development of the Rengma people.”
Stating that the Rengmas played a major role in the formation of the state and their contributions in this regard were well documented, TSUD reiterated its support for the formation of Tseminyu district.
It urged the state government to take serious consideration of the issue and fulfil the needs and aspirations of the people in the region.
MGBA: Meluri GB Association (MGBA) while extending its support to the demand for upgrading Tseminyu sub-division to a full-fledged district said that the demand was “very genuine and legitimate”.
Stating that they were deprived of their rights for quite a long time, MGBA said that it was time the government of the day materialise what was being demanded.
