As part of its phase-II protest, the Congress party has decided to stage dharna at PWD junction on November 20, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to protest against irregular power supply.

In a press release, NPCC minority department chairman Rajesh Kumar Sethi said that after the dharna they would submit memorandum to deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur. Sethi informed that the dharna was being organised by NPCC minority department and Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) with support from all Congress frontal organisations and Dimapur District Congress Committee (DDCC).

NPCC minority department stated that the citizens of Nagaland have been facing untold misery due to erratic power supply and frequent power cuts. It stated that normal business activities have also been disrupted.

Congress party has, therefore, appealed to the people to participate in the proposed dharna in large numbers “to wake up the government from deep sleep.”

Earlier on October 25, 2021, Congress party protested against “deplorable road conditions” in Dimapur as part of its phase-I protest.

The Congress has informed that phase-III protest would be against price rise and massive inflation coinciding with the nationwide “Jan Jagran Pad Yatra Abhiyan” called by the All India National Congress (AICC).
