10 apprehended in past one week, make huge seizures
Nagaland Police has started a major crackdown against drugs and Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) across the State.
Launched on January 11, the operation is aimed at combating the menace of widespread availability and usage of synthetic drugs, psychotropic substance and IMFL and its effect on the youth.
As part of the operation, intensive checking at all check posts, especially inter-district check posts, raids and checking of hotels, restaurants, etc, have been launched to prevent any such activities.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested 10 persons in the past one week, while seizing 964 IMFL bottles, 192 Spasmo Proxivon and other tablets, 72 gram of brown sugar and 650 gram of heroin and registering seven cases.
The police have further appealed to the general public to provide information regarding sale/distribution of any form of narcotics, drugs, IMFL etc, to the nearest police station or narcotics police station.
Mentioning that CUG (closed user group) phone numbers of various police officers and police stations were available in “Call Your Cop” mobile app, the police assured that the identity of the informant would be kept confidential.
