Alleging that the several teachers have been transferred along with post from Kiphire district without reliever, the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has served a 15-day ultimatum on the department of school education (DoSE) to immediately cancel the transferred order within the stipulated period.
In an ultimatum submitted to the principal director school education through senior SDEO Kiphire, the USSC vice president Setrongba Y Sangtam and general secretary Lumpili Sangtam cautioned that that in the event of department’s failure to fulfil its demands, the conference would take up democratic agitation and the concerned officer in-charge of the department would be answerable and accountable if any unwanted situation arose.
USSC pointed out that as department notification “No post shall be transferred out of district along with the incumbent”. USSC said that random transferring of teachers has caused “deficiency of teachers” in most of the government schools under its jurisdiction hindering smooth functioning of classes.
USSC said that more than 20 teachers had been transferred out from its jurisdiction within a year under retionalization/redeployment exercise.
In this regard, USSC has sought clarification from the responsible authority on what grounds employees were transferred along with post from the district without reliever by violating its own department notification.
