Refuting the allegation from NPF 2 Dimapur-II assembly constituency on “misuse of NPF office nomenclature”, the former NPF members of 2 Dimapur-II A/C on Monday have sought “apology letter” from NPF Dimapur-II A/C.
Addressing media persons here, former vice president of NPF 2 Dimapur-II A/C Sakho Angami stated that a few NPF officials have confused the public by alleging misuse of NPF nomenclature. Angami clarified the consultative meeting on May 21 was convened by NPF office bearers, not by the MLA and that the MLA was invited to the meeting.
He claimed that 202 members, who attended the meeting, “signed and decided to support Moatashi.”
On misuse of party nomenclature, Angami clarified that till May 21, they were all bona fide members of the party and that they had “every right to call for a meeting.”
Former vice president NPF 2 Dimapur II A/C, Asungba Imsong, who claimed he had been with the party for more than 21 years, said the meeting was held to understand the MLA’s stand and decision, and work together under his leadership.
Former advisor NPF 2 Dimapur II A/C Limawati Imchen said that a letter addressing the MLA was received from 2 Dimapur II NPF president stating that the meeting convened was “illegal”.
Former women wing president 2 Dimapur II A/C Kerei Pfukha clarified that till May 21, they were members of NPF party and for which the meeting was held with regard to merger.
She maintained that under 2 Dimapur-II A/C, there were 13 wards, 11 units with around 58,188 voters till January 2022.
Pfukha also clarified that women who attended the meeting included women those officially appointed as NPF 2 Dimapur-II A/C and not SHG women.
