AGBCN 3rd biennial youth conference concludes in Mon

The 3rd Biennial Youth Conference of Association of the Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland (AGBCN) concluded on October 9. The three-day event which commenced on October 7 was held under the theme “Be still & know that I am God” at Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjum (KBBB) Mission Centre, Mon and was attended by 421 delegates from 42 churches.
In a press release, AGBCN informed that main speakers for the conference were Deputy Executive Director, International Needs Network, Nepal, Uma Magar and Nepal based songwriter & worship leader, Adrian Dewan. The speakers spoke on the theme and called upon the youths to have the spirit and passion of dignity of labour.
Meanwhile, youth secretary, AGBCN, Shishir Lama in a brief address encouraged the youths to stand firm in their commitments until the next youth conference.
The three-day conference included various activities and competitions such as; battle of bands, culture dance, and secretary report competition.
NBC Kohima was adjudged winners at the battle of bands, followed by NBC Padumpukhuri and GBC Diphupar as first and second runners up respectively. In the cultural dance competition, NBC Thahekhu secured first place while NBC Wokha and NBC Kohima secured second and third places respectively. In secretary report competition, GBC Mon grabbed first position, followed by NBC Chümoukedima as second and NBC Kohima as third. NBC Kohima won ‘Best Discipline’ and was declared as the overall champion.
