Central Nagaland Women Association (CNWA) has demanded the implementation of the Register of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN) at the earliest. CNWA, through its information and publicity secretary Angelina Ngullie, questioned the State government why RIIN has not been implemented when it already has the cabinet approval?
Further, CNWA mentioned that during its third phase tour of the backward areas of Wokha district, they came to understand that the grievances of Ralan area villagers on border issue were being ignored, as the villagers had been facing threats on a daily basis.
They also said that various pending important issues were also deliberated upon with the constituent units of Kohima town, Lotha Eloe Hoho Wokha, Lotha Yingsung Olongo Eloe Ekhung Sanis, Bhandari Town Lotha Eloe Hoho and Ralan Range Lotha Eloe Hoho. CNWA further expressed concern that there were many unresolved issues impacting the women.
It therefore urged upon the government not to turn a blind eye to all these issues.
Meanwhile, CNWA also resolved to strongly stand with Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) for implementation of pocket-wise reservation to uplift the rightfully effected groups.
