ABAM, ABCC hold prayer for candidates

A special prayer programmes were organised by Angami Baptist Church Council, Clean Election core Committee (ABCC-CECC) and Ao Baptist Arogo Mundang (ABAM) for the intending candidates for the assembly election 2023 on Tuesday.
In Kohima, ABCC organised the event for all the Angami candidates at Rivenburg Memorial Hall, Mission Compound. Of the 15 candidates, 11 including chief minister Neiphiu Rio attended the prayer service.
Rev. Dr. Rachülie Vihienuo, Executive Director, ABCC exhorted the candidates with the Word of God.
Pastor Atuo Whuorie, convener ABCC CC chaired the programme and highlighted the intention of the Church and the Clean Election Movement. The programme culminated with a mass spoken prayer.
At Impur, 23 candidates and ABAM executive members and Clean Election Movement committee attended the programme.
According to ABAM executive secretary, Rev. Dr, Mar Pongener, the programme was organised to seek God’s blessing for all the candidates as they prepare for the forthcoming assembly election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly scheduled to be held on February 27.
It appealed to the candidates to maintain Christian disciplines by doing things that honor God and people. At the programme, the speakers encouraged the candidates to safeguard the nation from all fates that were unprecedentedly knocking at the doors.
As good members of ABAM and children of God, the speakers also appealed them to not compromise their identity for any reason.
In conclusion, Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener referring to Daniel 4:17 appealed to all the candidates to seek His will at this time of preparation and reminded them “human endeavors without God’s will end in doom”. He therefore asked them to always ask God to direct their ways.
The programme concluded with a special prayer for all the candidates.
